Fishing kayaks

Stand up, cast, and fish where the boats can't

A NuCanoe is stable enough to stand and cast all day, and skinny enough for the river. We rig it to match how you fish. You just launch and go.

However you fish

One platform, every kind of water

River fishing

Skinny-water access with a hands-free pedal drive so you can hold a line, work a seam, and keep both hands on the rod.

Open water

Stable enough for big lakes. Cover distance under pedal power and stand to sight-cast when you get there.

Fly fishing

A clean stand-up casting deck with room to strip line. Add a casting bar and you're steady even when it's blowing.

Bass & panfish

Sneak into the shallows and laydowns the bass boats never reach, and fish them quietly and thoroughly.

Why fish from a kayak

More water, less boat

A rigged NuCanoe gets you to water a full-size boat can't reach. No ramp, no trailer, no noise.

  • Slip in quietly without spooking the fish
  • Launch anywhere, fish the skinny water
  • Stand-and-cast stability for sight fishing all day
  • Far less cost and hassle than a powerboat

Fishing from a NuCanoe

Fishing questions we get a lot

Is a kayak really stable enough to stand and fish?

A NuCanoe is. The wide, open deck is designed for standing and casting. Add a casting bar and you are steady even in wind or current.

What is the best fishing setup for Vermont rivers?

A U10 with a Pivot Drive, a casting bar, and an Anchor Wizard covers most river fishing here. It lets you hold a seam with both hands on the rod.

Can I mount a fish finder?

Yes. The track system takes fish finder mounts and transducer arms without drilling. We wire and mount it so it is clean and ready the first day.

Do you rig fly fishing kayaks?

Yes. A clean deck, a fly rod holder, and a casting bar make a NuCanoe one of the best fly platforms on skinny water.
